ABOUT RICHARD FLEISCHER
Director of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Doctor Dolittle.
He directed animated shorts that were produced by his father, animator and producer Max Fleischer .
He won an Academy Award for his production of the documentary Design for Death, co-written by the man who would become known as Dr. Seuss.
He married Mary Dickson on June 26, 1943, and the couple raised three children together.
He directed Charlton Heston in 1973's Soylent Green.
