ABOUT RICHARD F. KNEIP
American Democratic politician who served as 25th Governor of South Dakota during the 1970s. He was later appointed United States Ambassador to Singapore.
After studying at St. John's University and South Dakota State University, he joined the United States Air Force and later owned a farm equipment business.
At the time of his election, he was the youngest ever governor of South Dakota.
He married Nancy Lou Pankey, with whom he had eight children.
He served during the administration of U.S. President Jimmy Carter .
