ABOUT RICHIE MARTIN

Professional middle infielder that was drafted by the Oakland Athletics during the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He was later drafted by the Baltimore Orioles during the 2018 Rule 5 Draft.

He attended the University of Florida , where he was named a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award as the nation's top shortstop, as well as a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.

He made his major league debut playing against the New York Yankees on March 28, 2019.

He is a native of Detroit, Michigan.

He got his first career major league hit facing James Paxton on the same day of his MLB debut.
