ABOUT RICK MEARS

Former race car driver who won the Indianapolis 500 four times.

He began his career in off-road racing and moved to the Indy Car series in the 1970s.

He was a three-time Indycar national champion.

He was married to his second wife Christyn Bowen from 1986 until 2002. His brother Roger Mears also became a professional racer.

His nephew Casey Mears also became a NASCAR racer.
