ABOUT RICKEY SMITH
American Idol alumnus from the second season of the FOX reality competition series who would finish in 8th place in his run.
He started singing when he was five years old and was classically trained as a singer. He studied performance at Southwestern Adventist University.
He was working as a teacher before appearing on American Idol.
Born in Keene, Texas, he would live in Los Angeles, California and Oklahoma City, California. He tragically lost his life in a car crash.
He is the second American Idol alumni to pass away after Michael Johns .
