ABOUT RJ ALLEN

Soccer defender who is widely known for his tenure with New York City FC of the MLS. In May 2016, his assist to striker David Villa was called one of the greatest assists in NYCFC history.

He played college soccer for Monmouth University between 2008 and 2011. He was selected by Chivas USA of the MLS during its supplemental draft, but opted instead to play for the Danish side Skive IK.

He scored his first ever MLS goal in April 2016 against the Montreal Impact. He earned the player of the month honor of May 2016 for NYCFC.

He was born and raised in Old Bridge, New Jersey.

He has played alongside English soccer star Frank Lampard for New York City FC.
