ABOUT ROBERT FORD

Member of Jesse James ' gang who shot and killed the notorious outlaw.

He grew up idolizing James and got a chance to join his gang in 1880.

He was arrested for a shooting in his house, but was released with the promise he could bring the outlaw James to justice.

He was one of seven children born to James Thomas Ford and his wife, and his brothers joined the fringes of James' gang.

He shot Jesse James in the back of the head as James was standing to clean a dusty portrait in Ford's house.
