ABOUT RUBEN ÖSTLUND
Swedish director who rose to fame for his 2004 drama film The Guitar Mongoloid. He went on to receive acclaim for his films Force Majeure and The Square. His widely praised satirical black comedy Triangle of Sadness was released in 2022.
He graduated from the Högskolan för Fotografi in 2001.
He won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017 for The Square and in 2022 for Triangle of Sadness. His first feature-length film, The Guitar Mongoloid, was honored with the FIPRESCI Award at the 27th Moscow International Film Festival.
He has a son named Elias and twin daughters named Alva and Hilda.
As director of Triangle of Sadness, he worked with actor Harris Dickinson .
