ABOUT SALAH SHEHADE

Leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam military faction of Hamas, until he was targeted and killed by Israel. He was known for ordering suicide bombings against civilian targets.

He was one of the original members of Hamas when the group formed in 1987.

Israeli Dense Forces dropped a one ton bomb on his house which killed fifteen people and injured over 100 more.

He was born and raised in Gaza, Palestine and his wife and daughter were also killed in the bombing that took his life.

Ariel Sharon was involved in giving the go ahead for his assassination.
