French-born Georgian politician and former diplomat. She served as the fifth President of Georgia. She was the first woman to be elected to the role.
She studied at the Institut d'Études Politiques in Paris. She also studied at Columbia University in New York.
She speaks Georgian, French and English. She is conversational in German and Italian.
She was married to the Georgian journalist Janri Kashia. She has two children named Kethevane and Teimuraz from her first marriage to economist Nicolas Gorjestani.
Mikheil Saakashvili was also a President of Georgia.
