ABOUT SAM CASSELL
NBA point guard who played with nine different teams during his sixteen-year career; won back-to-back NBA titles with the Houston Rockets during his first two years in the league, 1994 and 1995; selected to his only All-Star game in 2004 as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He attended Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland, the same school as former NBA players Reggie Lewis and Muggsy Bogues .
He played two years of college basketball at San Jacinto before transferring to Florida State for two years; he was then selected 24th overall in the 1993 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets.
He had a son named Sam Jr. with his wife Tonya Cassell.
He was the point guard for the Houston Rockets when star center Hakeem Olajuwon led the team to back-to-back titles.
