Sami Vanska

ABOUT SAMI VANSKA

Finnish bassist who played with Nightwish, a metal band with a symphonic flavor. He joined them for their Wishmaster tour and played on their second LP, Oceanborn, in 1998.

He began his musical career as a member of the band Nattvindens Grat. He recorded several albums with the group in the mid-to-late 1990s.

He played for a blues band called Root Remedy during the first decade of the 2000s.

He was born and raised in Finland.

Vanska's artistic differences with musician, songwriter, and bandleader Tuomas Holopainen resulted in his ejection from the Nightwish band.
