ABOUT SAMUEL ELIAS

Professional defender most widely recognized for playing with Clube Atlético Mineiro for the majority of his on-field career. Due to injuries and being loaned to other football clubs including Paços de Ferreira, Fortaleza, Boa Esporte, and Villa Nova-MG, he only played in one professional game for Atlético Mineiro throughout his professional career.

He spent the entirety of his amateur league career in the Atlético Mineiro youth academy. After progressing through the academy, he debuted with Atlético Mineiro's professional football club in 2008.

In addition to playing for Atlético Mineiro and the numerous teams to which he was loaned throughout his career, he has also played in the U-18 division of the Brazilian national soccer team.

He is originally from Brazil. Although he commonly goes simply by "Samuel," his full birth name is Samuel Elias do Carmo Soares.

Some of his teammates on the 2010 roster of Clube Atlético Mineiro included Réver , Marcos Rocha , and Édison Méndez .
