ABOUT SCOTT ELLIS
Director and actor. He is known for directing TV shows like 30 Rock, Modern Family, and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He has also directed shows on Broadway and Off Broadway, and was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Director nine times.
Before he became a director, he was a successful stage actor. He performed on Broadway in the original casts of the 1980 original musical Musical Chairs and The Rink with Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera .
He has been the Associate Artistic Director for the Roundabout Theatre since 1998. He won the Olivier Award as Best Director, Musical, for She Loves Me.
He is from Washington D.C. He has a twin brother named Mark. He is married to Scott Drummond, and they have twins, Charlotte and Parker.
He played the roll of Leonard Bernstein 's manager, Harry Kraut, in the biopic film Maestro which was directed by and starred Bradley Cooper .
