ABOUT SHAIJU DAMODARAN

Sports commentator, journalist, and columnist best known as the leading Malayalam commentator for Star Network on their coverage of the Indian Super League. He has commentated on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, and the FIFA World Cup in Russia, to name a few of the many sports events he has covered.

He received his bachelor's degree in economics at St. Paul's College before going on to earn a post-graduate diploma in journalism and mass communication at Kerala Media Academy.

He has commentated on more Indian Super League games than any other commentator in any other language. He posts career and family photos to the 550,000 followers on his shaiju_damodaran Instagram account.

He is the son of A.I. Damodaran and Lalitha Damodaran. He is married to his wife Asha, with whom he has 2 children named Abhinov and Adhinov.

In December 2020, he reenacted the narration for Diego Maradona 's 'Goal of the Century' at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Malayalam.
