Professional motocross racer who is recognized for competing in 250cc events. He has amassed more than 120,000 followers on his personal shanemcelrath_ Instagram account.

In 2011, he won a competition held at Loretta Lynn's at Muddy Creek.

During a race in 2016 he sustained a concussion, grade 3 AC separation in his shoulder, bruised lungs, and seven broken ribs.

He comes from a motocross family and his brother Kyle also raced professionally.

Both he and Travis Pastrana were motorsports competitors.
