ABOUT SHANKAR SHANMUGHAM

Director, producer, and screenwriter best known for his work within Tamil cinema. His films have earned recognition for their acknowledgement of social issues and vigilante themes. Some of his best-known works include Enthiran, 2.0, Gentleman, and Anniyan.

After graduating from Central Polytechnic College with a diploma in mechanical engineering, he briefly worked at a typewriting company before making his start in the film industry. He also briefly pursued a career as an actor, appearing in films such as Vesham and Poovum Puyalum, before making his directional debut with the 1993 film Gentleman.

He has been honored with countless accolades including a National Film Award and several Filmfare Award Souths. He has also earned multiple Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and several of his films have earned the National Film Award for Best Special Effects.

He and his wife Easwari Shankar are the parents of two daughters named Aditi and Aishwarya and a son named Arjith.

His films have starred A-list actors including Amar Choudhary , Vikram , and Amy Jackson .
