Shogo Taniguchi

ABOUT SHOGO TANIGUCHI

Men's center-back that earned his first professional club contract with the Kawasaki Frontale in the year 2014. After eight seasons, he then joined the Al-Rayyan Sports Club in the year 2023. He has also played for the Japanese men's national team during his professional career.

Prior to professional playing career, he played soccer while at Ohzu High School. Shortly after graduating, he then enrolled in the University of Tsukuba as a freshman in the year 2010. Not long after, he entered the world of professional sports with the dream of becoming an athlete.

While playing for Team Japan, he won the 2022 East Asia Football Federation Championship. After winning it all, he was named the tournament's "Best Defender."

He was born and raised in Kumamoto, Japan.

He primarily plays the position of center-back just like David Luiz and Pepe .
