Emmy Award-winning actress who has appeared in many film and television productions, including the 2003 film House of Sand and Fog. She was the voice of the Dragon in the 2024 movie Damsel .
She started acting at age 18 in numerous stage roles and had her first film role in Gozāresh.
She provided the voice for Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay in the video games Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. She has amassed over 80 different acting credits throughout her ongoing career.
She married Houshang Touzie in 1987. She has a daughter named Tara.
She starred with Ben Kingsley in the drama film House of Sand and Fog, which was based on a novel by Andre Dubus III.
