ABOUT SIDNEY CLARE
Lyricist best known for On the Good Ship Lollipop and Then I'll Be Happy. He was credited with first using the term "rock and roll" in 1934.
He performed as a dancer in vaudeville and wrote the first full film score for Street Girl from 1929.
He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
He married Myrtle Hammerstad.
His song Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone was used in the classic 1955 animated short One Froggy Evening directed by Chuck Jones .
