Singer and reality star famous for being a member of the girl group KATSEYE . She rose to fame as a contestant on the HYBE Entertainment and Geffen Records survival show The Debut: Dream Academy, which aired on YouTube and the Japanese streaming platform Abema. The only Filipina contestant to be vying for a spot in the global girl group, she joined a group of co-competitors from countries all over the world, including South Korea, Australia, Belarus, and Argentina.

A performer since the young age of three, she disclosed in an exclusive introduction video on the reality series that singing was her first love. Prior to joining the cast of Dream Academy, she graduated with several honors for excellence in academics from Multiple Intelligence International School in June of 2021.

She has been known to go by nicknames including Sophie, Fifi, and Sopheezy among friends and family. She has garnered more than 650,000 followers on her sophia_laforteza Instagram page.

She was born in Queen, New York but she is of Filipina descent. She is the daughter of singer and actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza and the executive chef of Resort World, Godfrey Laforteza. She also has 2 brothers.

She is a passionate enthusiast of K-pop music, and a particular fan of groups such as BTS , TXT , and Le Sserafim .
