Car racing legend whose career spanned both the generation of midget cars and the Indianapolis 500.
His collaboration with Performance Racing Industry Magazine founder Steve Lewis jumpstarted both his career and that of his #9 Racing team.
He survived a serious injury at the 1995 Indianapolis 500, but tragically died in his van in a head-on collision near Auckland, New Zealand.
He grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin.
He competed in the Indianapolis 500 eight times, driving for A.J. Foyt and Ron Hemelgarn.
