ABOUT STAN FREEMAN

Composer, entertainer, artist, performer, musician, instrumentalist, and songwriter who was best known for his talent as a pianist. He regularly conducted studio sessions with several popular and well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra , Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald .

At the University of Hartford, he studied classical piano. He served in World War II, and went on to perform in bands and at nightclubs.

His full first name is Stanley, but he was best known as Stan. He recorded more than 15 individual albums. Freeman conducted Broadway concerts for Marlene Dietrich in 1967 and 1968 and provided arrangements for three of Michael Feinstein's Broadway outings.

He had two brothers.

He worked as a lyricist for the Carol Burnett Show. He played with the Glenn Miller band in WWII.
