Stanislav Shopov

ABOUT STANISLAV SHOPOV

Midfielder and athlete who is best known for his time with the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia. He joined the club in June of 2022. Prior to that, he played for Dutch club Heerenveen.

At the young age of seven, he started playing soccer at Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv.

In the year 2018, he signed a professional contract with Botev Plovdiv. He played for the club until the year 2020. In March of 2023, Shopov was called up to the Bulgaria national team as a replacement for the injured Dominik Yankov, becoming part of the squad for the Euro 2026 qualifiers against Montenegro and Hungary. He earned his first cap on the date of March 27, 2023, in the 0:3 away loss against the latter, coming on as a late second half substitute for Ilia Gruev.

He is from Bulgaria.

He and Martin Petrov are both Bulgarian soccer stars who played for CSKA Sofia.
