
Stephen Heard
ABOUT STEPHEN HEARD
Governor of Georgia from 1780 to 1781 who fought in the French and Indian War, along with the American Revolutionary War.
He was a soldier and he was raised in Hanover County, Virginia.
Due to his prominent war efforts Georgia's General Assembly named Heard County, Georgia after him.
He was married to Jane Germany.
During the American Revolutionary War he became good friends with President George Washington .
