He began skating at the age of fourteen and would soon wind up on Birdhouse skateboard then Alien Workshop.

He has appeared on several MTV reality shows.

He was married to actress Juliette Lewis for almost four years.

Tony Hawk , another famous skateboarder, was his mentor and teamleader when Birdhouse existed.
