Steve DiGiorgio

ABOUT STEVE DIGIORGIO

Known for his work with such American metal groups as Autopsy, Dragonlord, Obituary, Futures End, and Death, Digiorgio also performed with the Swedish band Vintersorg and with the Italian group Ephel Duath. In addition, he was one of the founders of the bands Soen and Dark Hall.

Early in his career, he contributed to Sadus' 1988 album Illusions and to Autopsy's 1989 recording Severed Survival.

He is notable for his skill in playing rapid, plucked notes without the aid of a pick.

He was born in Waukegan, Illinois and raised in Antioch, California.

He and guitarist Jon Schaffer both performed with the Tampa-based metal band Iced Earth.
