ABOUT STEVE IRWIN
Australian naturalist nicknamed The Crocodile Hunter who became popular through his work alongside dangerous animals on television, most notably on the television series that shared his nickname. He tragically died after being stabbed by a stingray in a freak accident.
He received his first pet, a 12-foot scrub python, at age 6.
The turtle species Elseya Irwini was named after him.
He married Terri Irwin in 1992, and the couple had a daughter named Bindi in 1998 and a son named Robert in 2003.
He made a cameo in the 2001 Eddie Murphy film Dr. Dolittle 2.
