Manga artist who created the fantasy series Tokyo Ghoul as well as the follow-ups Tokyo Ghoul [Jack] and Tokyo Ghoul:re. He has created over 5 Mangas throughout his ongoing career. He has also written multiple light novels.

He started his Tokyo Ghoul series as a series of one-shots in 2010. One of them earned him a second place finish at the Weekly Young Jump 113th Grand Prix.

More than 1.3 million fans follow his every word on the Twitter account sotonami. In 2016, he won second place in the Manga Sugoi Japan Awards for Tokyo Ghoul.

He was born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Masataka Kubota starred in the film adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul.
