He is the Māori-descended bassist for the New Zealand metal band Alien Weaponry. He also has his tu_edmonds TikTok account with 380,000 followers where he posts educational videos about Māori culture.

His first posts on his Instagram account in late 2020 were instrumental covers of popular songs.

He has a traditional Māori-style tattoo on his face. The band's song "Kai Tangata" has over 8.5 million listens on Spotify. In March of 2022, he posted a TikTok addressing whether non-Māori people should get facial moko tattoos and it received more than 1.4 million views.

He is very proud of his Māori heritage.

He and Lorde are both musicians from New Zealand.
