She attended Spelman College, an all female predominately African-American school, and then attended New York University where she studied theater.

She had acting roles on The Wayans Brothers, Family Matters, Living Single, and NYPD Blue.

She was raised in Los Angeles, California after being born in Washington D.C.

She has worked with TV host and actor Mario Lopez on the TV show Extra.
