ABOUT TED HAGGARD

Founder and former pastor of the New Life Church who resigned from his position in 2006.

As a co-editor of his high-school newspaper he published frank articles which described services that were available to prevent and deal with increasingly prevalent pregnancies and STDs.

He stepped down from the New Life Church after being alleged of drug use and engaging in sexual relations with a male prostitute.

He had five children with wife Gayle, who stood by his side throughout his scandal.

Early in his life he made the acquaintance of Christian writer and apologist C.S. Lewis , who influenced his life greatly.
