He trained as a boxer before injuries forced him to quit and become a trainer.
He has done boxing commentary for NBC's coverage of the Olympics, and also ESPN's Friday Night Fights.
He married Elaine Atlas, and has two children with her.
As a head trainer he gained recognition for leading boxer Michael Moorer to the 1994 world heavyweight title.
