ABOUT TESS JARAY

Famous for her award-winning works of public art, Jaray exhibited her work at galleries in London and Oxford, England; Adelaide, Australia; and Edinburgh, Scotland. She also created commissioned works to be displayed in public spaces in London, Moscow, Montreal, and other major cities.

She trained at both Saint Martin's School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art.

She taught for three decades at University College London's Slade School of Fine Art and also became an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute for British Architects.

Though she was born in Vienna, Austria, she was raised primarily in Worcestershire, England. Her father, Franz, was an inventor and engineer, and her mother, Pauline, was an aspiring artist.

She was born in the same year as fellow British printmaker and painter Tom Phillips .
