Movie actor who appeared in over 150 films in the span of his 40 year film career. He is perhaps best known for his appearance in The Twilight Zone episode "Execution" in 1960.
He first learned acting under Michael Chekhov and Lee Strasberg before touring William Shakespeare 's plays around the country.
He starred alongside Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah in the 1984 film Splash as Mr. Ambrose. He previously appeared in Being There with Peter Sellers .
He met his wife Gertrude Wyenn after the end of World War II in Los Angeles.
He appeared in three episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour between 1963 and 1964.
