ABOUT THIAGO MENDES

Veteran men's defensive mid-fielder that was originally signed by the Goiás Sports Club in the year 2012. Since then, he has played soccer professionally in both Brazil and France. In July of 2019, he signed a multi-year deal with Olympique Lyonnais.

He initially began his youth soccer career with Goiás. He was just 20 years old when he signed his first club contract.

He made his professional club start with Goiás while playing against Portuguesa on September 27, 2011. Unfortunately, he and his team lost his debut match with a score of 3-0. On July 8, 2017, Ligue 1 side Lille announced the signing of Mendes on a five-year contract.

He lives with his wife and their three children. He is a native of São Luís, Brazil.

He played alongside Alexandre Lacazette as a member of Olympique Lyonnais during the 2023 French Serie Ligue 1 season.
