ABOUT THOMAS KUHN

Author of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions from 1962 that introduced the term paradigm shift.

He obtained a B.S. degree in physics at Harvard University in 1943, also graduating from Harvard with a Master's in 1946 and a Ph.D. in 1949.

He was named the Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979, a position he held until 1991.

He was married to Jeanie Barton Burns.

He was influenced by Jean Piaget .
