ABOUT THOMAS PITERA

Sicilian-American hitman nicknamed "Karate Tommy" known as a member of the infamous Bonanno family. He was convicted of multiple murders in June 1992 and was sentenced to life in prison.

He worked at a chopsticks factory in Japan.

He was nicknamed "Karate Tommy" due to the karate skills he learned as a young man during his two-year stay in Japan.

His father, Joseph Pitera, was a candy salesman.

He and Dominick Napolitano were both members of the Bonanno family.
