Screenwriter, writer, filmmaker, producer, and director who is best known for his work on several well-known and popular television shows including Breaking Bad , Better Call Saul , and The X-Files . He has won multiple Writers Guild of America awards.

He graduated from New York University 's Tisch School of the Arts.

In the year 2015, it was reported that he would write the script for Disney's remake of Jack and the Beanstalk. In the year 2013, he won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series as Co-Executive Producer of Breaking Bad.

In the year 2015, he married Kristyn Carey.

He collaborated with Vince Gilligan after they met at college.
