ABOUT TIGRAN HAMASYAN
Pianist and composer recognized for his unique blend of jazz, Armenian folk influences, and occasionally progressive rock. His eclectic approach has led to a number of collaborations with non-jazz artists, including Serj Tankian and electronic music duo LV. Notable albums of his include 2011's A Fable, 2015's Mockroot, and 2022's StandArt.
He started attending music school at the age of 6.
His song, "Tsirani Tsar," has racked up more than 3 million Spotify streams. In 2013, he received the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Contemporary Music.
His mother worked as a clothing designer and his father worked as a jeweler.
His 2022 album, StandArt, features a guest appearance by saxophonist Mark Turner .
