Bassist and singer who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Eagles and who has also played with Poco.

He began playing in the folk group Tim, Tom & Ron at age fifteen.

He coined the term "Parrotheads" to describe fans of singer Jimmy Buffett .

He married Jean Cromie in 1964. He has two daughters, Owen and Jeddrah, and a son, Ben.

He was a member of The Eagles with guitarist Joe Walsh .
