
Timothy R. Young
ABOUT TIMOTHY R. YOUNG
American Democratic politician who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1949 to 1951. He was a member of the House Committee on Public Lands.
He attended Bowdoin College and graduated in 1835. He went on to obtain his law degree and passed the bar in 1838.
After his stint in Congress, he spent ten years working as a wholesale tobacco merchant.
He married Margarette E. Jones in 1852 and the couple had three children together.
He was elected to Congress during the short-lived term of U.S. President Zachary Taylor .
