ABOUT TOM AIKENS

English chef who rose to fame during his years as the head chef for Pied à Terre. In the year 2003, he opened his eponymous restaurant. It earned its first Michelin star the following year. He has competed on television shows like Iron Chef UK and Great British Menu.

He graduated from City College Norwich's Hotel School with an advanced catering diploma in the year 1989.

He was named Newcomer of the Year at the 2004 Catey Awards. He shares recipes on his tomaikens Instagram account, where he has gained upwards of 140,000 followers. He has traveled to many foreign cities including Jakarta in Indonesia and Tokyo in Japan.

He has a twin brother named Robert who is also a chef.

He worked under Pierre Koffmann at La Tante Claire.
