ABOUT TOMMY LAWRENCE
Former goalkeeper who played professionally for Liverpool from 1957-1971. He also played for the Scottish national team from 1963-1969.
He worked at a wire factory in Warrington.
He was known for fearlessly charging oncoming forwards to force their hand and prevent them from scoring on him.
His family moved to Lancashire when he was a boy, and he attended Culcheth Secondary School.
He played for manager Bill Shankly at Liverpool.
