American director, screenwriter and producer most famous for having directed the horror films It and Halloween III: Season of the Witch. He is a longtime friend and collaborator of Halloween director John Carpenter .
He attended USC's film program and got his start as an editor for TV commercials.
In Halloween, he played the masked murderer Michael Myers in the scene where he falls off the balcony.
He was previously married to actress Nancy Kyes , who appeared in each of the first three Halloween films.
