ABOUT TONYA LEWIS LEE
American film and television producer, author, and entrepreneur who founded her production company Madstone Company Inc. in the year 1998. She is also an advocate for women and infant health. She has also worked in media for children through her work with Nickelodeon.
She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a BA and the University of Virginia School of Law with a JD. She practiced law at Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle LLP in Washington, D.C. for nearly two years prior to starting her career as an author and writer.
She is the author of three children's books entitled, "Please Baby Please," "Please Puppy Please," and "Giant Steps to Change the World." She is also the co-author of the New York Times bestselling Gotham Diaries.
Her parents are Lillian Glenn and George R. Lewis. She has been married to director Spike Lee since the year 1993. They have two children named Satchel and Jackson Lee.
She was a writer for the film She's Gotta Have It starring Anthony Ramos and DeWanda Wise .
