ABOUT TREY MURPHY III

Professional guard and forward that was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans as the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. During his final year at the University of Virginia , he posted a 50-40-90 shooting season.

Prior to transferring to Virginia, he attended Rice University for his freshman and sophomore year.

While at Rice, he set the freshman record for three-point field goal percentage, shooting 42.1 percent.

He is the son of Albeda and Kenneth Murphy Jr. His father, Kenneth, played college basketball at Eastern Carolina University.

While at Virginia, he was coached by legendary college coach Tony Bennett .
