ABOUT TYLER CURRY

LGBT activist and columnist known for his work fighting HIV stigma. He is known for his work contributing to websites and newspapers Plus, HIV Equal, The Advocate, and The Huffington Post. He has worked as the editor-at-large for HIV Plus, has been a contributing editor of The Advocate, and is the creator of the Needle Prick Project. In 2014, he was named one of HIV Plus Magazine's "20 Amazing HIV-Positive Men of 2014."

He attended the University of North Texas, where he majored in political science and government and graduated in 2007. He then attended graduate school at Arizona State University, where he earned a master's degree in public policy with a focus on non-profit/public/organizational management in 2009. While at the University of North Texas, he began contributing to the university's newspaper, which started his writing career.

He supports Beat AIDS Project Zimbabwe, a group dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe. He wrote a children's book called A Peacock Among Pigeons that was published in 2015. The book was awarded The Enchanted Page Book Award in 2016 by the Literary Classics website. It was later turned into a musical.

He was born and raised in Conroe, Texas.

He took inspiration from fellow HIV and LGBT activist Cleve Jones .
