She was born in Indonesia and moved to Texas when she was sixteen years old. She went on to receive her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin.
She debuted on Broadway in the musical Rex. She played Annie Howard in the 2003 movie Seabiscuit .
She married and had a child with Joseph Kell.
She and Cynthia Geary both appeared on Northern Exposure.
