Valery Meladze

ABOUT VALERY MELADZE

Georgian singer and composer who is known for both his singing and piano playing. He is known for his duet work with Nu Virgos and for having released the popular albums Nega, Vopreki, and Vsyo Tak I Bylo.

He learned to play the piano at a young age and went to music school. He later studied mechanical engineering but continued his singing. He was discovered after recording his debut 1991 album Poseredine Mira. After winning several awards in 1995, he continued his career as a solo artist, moving to Kiev and recording the album Vsyo Tak I Bylo.

In 2006, he won the Best Performer and Best Artist award at the MTV Russian Music Awards.

His brother Konstantin Meladze is also a fellow composer and producer.

He is also an actor known for having starred in the 2003 feature film Zolushka where he starred alongside Nikolay Baskov .
